Privacy first: Veterans Pathway Project designs its apps to collect only what is needed to operate the Service. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

Let's Go to Church Privacy Policy

App: Let's Go to Church · Operator: Veterans Pathway Project · Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Veterans Pathway Project (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Let’s Go to Church mobile application and related services at vetvp.org (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

Account and profile: Name / display name, email address, username (if chosen), password (stored as a secure hash by our auth provider), and profile metadata such as leadership status, linked place of worship, and church team membership.

Location: With your permission, the app uses your device’s location while the app is in use to show nearby houses of worship and events on the map. We do not sell location data or use it for advertising.

Content you submit: Place-of-worship addition requests, church events you create as a linked leader, Live Study session metadata, church team invites and membership records, and crisis / help volunteer applications and talk requests (status, timestamps, and session identifiers needed to connect you with a volunteer).

Device and notifications: If you enable notifications, we may store a push notification token and related preferences (for example, Reading of the Day reminders).

Technical / operational data: Our hosting and proxy infrastructure may process standard technical data such as IP address, request timestamps, and approximate region (for security, abuse prevention, and reliability). We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

Public directory data: The Service includes a directory of houses of worship and publicly listed events. That directory is not your personal account data; it may come from public sources, organizer submissions, and administrative review.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure your account; provide map, Bible, Live Study, leadership, invites, help/support, and related features; show nearby venues and events; send optional notifications you enable; review place-of-worship requests; moderate abuse; maintain and improve the Service; and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

Permissions the app may request

PermissionPurpose
Location (when in use)Find nearby houses of worship and events
CameraLive Study (and similar video) sessions
MicrophoneLive Study (and similar audio) sessions
NotificationsOptional reminders (e.g. Reading of the Day)

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

Third-party services

We use trusted providers to operate the Service (authentication and database hosting, cloud edge / proxy services, map providers, live video/audio in-app, scripture text APIs, and app stores / push platforms). Camera/microphone media for Live Study and volunteer talk is handled by the video provider’s infrastructure while you are in a session. We do not control third-party privacy practices beyond our configuration of their services.

Live Study, help, and communications

Live Study and volunteer talk features may transmit audio/video while you are connected. Session titles, room IDs, host status, and similar metadata may be stored so others can find or join active sessions. Do not share sensitive personal information in open study rooms. Crisis hotline links may connect you to third-party organizations not operated by Veterans Pathway Project.

Children’s privacy

Let’s Go to Church is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact contact@support.vetvp.org if you believe a child under 13 has created an account.

Data retention, deletion, and security

We retain account and service data while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may log out or delete your account in Settings (permanent). Deleting your account removes your authentication identity and associated personal profile data we control; it does not automatically remove public directory content that is not personal account data. We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport, hashed passwords, and access controls.

International users & changes

The Service may be hosted or processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Help Us Vets Privacy Policy

App: Help Us Vets · Operator: Veterans Pathway Project · Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Veterans Pathway Project (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes information when you use the Help Us Vets mobile application and related backend services at vetvp.org (the “Service”). The Service helps veterans, service members, and their families find VA facilities, Vet Centers, veteran service organizations (VSOs), and related support resources on a map.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Information we collect

Account and profile: Email address, name or display name, username (if chosen), password (stored as a secure hash by our auth provider—we cannot read your plain password), and profile metadata such as facility staff or leader status and linked provider or organization.

Location (geolocation): With your permission, the app uses your device’s location while the app is in use to show nearby VA facilities, Vet Centers, VSOs, and related providers on the map. We use location only to run map searches and distance sorting. We do not sell location data and do not use it for targeted advertising.

Content you submit: Missing-facility or VSO requests (name, address, phone, contact details), events you create as linked staff, peer support session metadata (room identifiers, host status, titles), crisis or help volunteer applications and talk request status, timestamps, and session identifiers needed to connect you with a volunteer or resource.

Device and notifications: If you enable notifications, we may store a push notification token and related preferences on our systems or with your platform’s push service.

Technical and operational data: Our hosting and proxy infrastructure may process IP address, request timestamps, user agent, and approximate region for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and reliability. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

Public directory data: The Service includes a directory of VA facilities, Vet Centers, benefits offices, VSOs (such as American Legion and VFW posts), and similar locations. This directory is not your personal account data. It is compiled from public government and open-data sources (including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Facilities API), community submissions, and administrative review. We do not import or store VA patient health records, disability ratings, claims data, or other protected health information (PHI) from VA systems.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure your account; provide map, Resources, Help, Staff, Peers, and Settings features; show nearby providers; send optional notifications you enable; review facility requests; moderate abuse; maintain and improve the Service; and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information for profit or other monetary transactions. We do not share your personal information with marketers, data brokers, or partners for their independent marketing.

Permissions the app may request

PermissionPurpose
Location (when in use)Find nearby VA and veteran support locations

MicrophonePeer support audio sessions (when you choose to use them)

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

Third-party services

We use service providers only to operate the Service. They process data on our behalf and are required to use it only for providing services to us:

  • Authentication and database hosting — accounts and geospatial provider directory storage
  • Cloudflare — edge proxy, security, and API routing for vetvp.org
  • Map providers — device map SDKs on your platform
  • Live video/audio providers — peer support sessions while you are connected
  • Apple and Google — app distribution and push notification delivery when enabled
  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Facilities API) — public facility location and services metadata imported server-side; we do not send your personal data to VA through this API

Crisis hotlines and external websites linked from the app are operated by third parties; their privacy practices apply when you leave our app.

Peers, help features, and medical disclaimer

Peer support and volunteer talk features may transmit audio or video while you are connected. Session metadata may be stored so others can find active sessions. These features are not emergency services, licensed therapy, medical care, or VA clinical services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 (U.S.) or your local emergency number, or use the Veterans Crisis Line (988, then press 1).

Children’s privacy

Help Us Vets is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact contact@support.vetvp.org if you believe a child under 13 has created an account.

Data retention

We retain account and service data while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. If your account is dormant (no sign-in) for 24 months, we may email the address on file and then delete or anonymize personal account data, except where retention is required by law or for documented security needs. Public directory listings are not personal account data and may remain after account deletion.

Data deletion and your choices

You may log out at any time, disable permissions in device settings, and delete your account in Settings → Delete account (permanent). You may also request deletion by email at contact@support.vetvp.org. See our Data Deletion Instructions.

When you request deletion, we will permanently delete 100% of your personal account data we control—including profile, credentials, linked staff data, invites, and personal submissions—within 45 days, unless a longer period is required by law. Deleting your account does not remove public directory content that is not personal account data.

Security and data breaches

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and server-side storage of API keys (not embedded in the mobile app). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. If we learn of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and provide instructions for further actions you may take, consistent with applicable law.

Ownership changes

If Veterans Pathway Project experiences a transfer of ownership, merger, or sale of its operations, we will notify you before your information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy. You will have the option to delete your account and personal data before the transfer, or to close your account after notice if you do not agree with the new policy.

International users and policy changes

The Service may be hosted or processed in the United States. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date will change when we do. We will notify users of material changes through the app, by email to the address on file, or by posting an updated policy at this URL. Continued use after the effective date of an update means you accept the revised policy.
